Al-Nassr faced an unexpected defeat against Al-Qadisiyah, and this defeat has made winning the Saudi Pro League title a near-impossible feat. Cristiano Ronaldo tries to motivate the team following this devastating defeat.  

People, Al-Nassr had a rough Saturday after undergoing an unexpected defeat by Al-Qadisiyah with a score of 2-1, which was quite an upset within the Saudi Pro League’s top-tier competition.  This defeat has certainly put a massive dent in their chances of winning the league. Despite sitting at the top of the table, discontent is brewing at Prince Mohammd bin Fadh Stadium as there are only a couple of matches left in the 2024-25 season, which puts the Riyadh-based team in a difficult position.  

The host team was ahead in the 35th minute by Turki al-Amamer’s goal, followed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s late strike in the 87th.  Al-Nassr managed only three real chances out of their eleven tries in the offensive third of the field, despite controlling most of the play and trying to generate clear-cut opportunities.

Sadio Mané’s delight was fleeting, even though he struck the back of the net and leveled in the 84th minute.  In the last minutes, Aubameyang hit once more to guarantee the home team would win hard-foughtly. and leaving Al-Nassr’s title hopes in shambles.

Al-Qadisiyah’s organized defense kept Cristiano Ronaldo, who came for the match buzzing with energy after scoring four goals in his previous two games, mostly subdued. In what has now become a routine for him, the Portuguese forward did not find the back of the net and only managed to get off three attempts, two blocked and one wayward.
